Arlington gets its water from DC. The huge water mains can be seen under the deck of Chain Bridge. One blew out right at the bridge about five or six years ago. The mains go uphill under Chain Bridge Road, probably on to the highest point in Arlington, which is up by that small shopping center at Sycamore Street and Williamsburg Road. There is an underground reservoir there. You can see the Masonic Temple from there, 8.75 miles away in Alexandria. Walk around the corner, and you can see Sibley Hospital in DC.
