[Scan-DC] Falls Church

Falls Church is a political oddity because it is a "city" that exists in 2 Virginia counties (Arlington and Fairfax). It is basically a "county" of a city.

Falls Church has an independent sheriff's department, police department, fire department and school system.

An example of the weirdness is in schools. Falls Church High School is not a Falls Church city school, it is in fact a Fairfax County high school. George Mason High School is Falls Church City's high school. George Mason is on property which is in Fairfax County.

Based on recent monitoring, Falls Church PD continues to be on the old analog Motorola system. They have four talkgroups. Unknown when/if they'll be switching to the P25 digital system.

Arlington Fire (of which the Falls Church VFD is a part) is on the P25 system. They have a few talkgroups simulcasted on the analog system.

Mike,

I found this "Falls Church Police are on this[Arlington County Analog] trunked system. The fire station in Falls Church is actually part of Arlington County Fire, and is also on this trunked system."

I didn't realize they were part of the County Fire System, I wonder if they are actually still on the old system or if they switched with County Fire and RR is just out of date?

But it appears Falls Church is still on the old analog system, according to RR. Unless something has changed?
