As a former resident of Washington County, ITS ABOUT TIME!

I used to have a saying, "Washington County 200 years of tradition, hampered by progress".

And the dispatch center has been a long time coming! In the basement is an understatement! More like a dungeon!

Of course, they would wait until I took a dispatch job in Nevada, to expand and bring on more dispatchers also.....

Oh well!!

Carl

Alan (and all),I tried to respond, but it was blocked because of HTML. Anyway... As a Hagerstown resident and a person who gets the newspaper, I have to say I missed this. The county's 450 MHz APCO-25 system was supposed to have been online by now. Reading between the lines of the article, I wouldn't expect it to come online until after the dispatch center is completed. Thanks Alan.-Shawn----- Original Message ----From: Alan Henney <alan at henney.com>To: Scan DC <Scan-DC at mailman.qth.net>Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 2:13:50 AMSubject: [Scan-DC] New 911 center critical to upgrading Washington County emergency communicationshttp://www.herald-mail.com/?cmd=displaystory&story_id=199086&format=htmlThe Herald-Mail ONLINEhttp://www.herald-mail.com/_______________________________________________Scan-DC mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/scan-dcHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmlPost: mailto:Scan-DC at mailman.qth.net
