[Scan-DC] COG Radio Assignments

More on this.....

Yesterday I sent an e-mail concerning Montgomery County Fire Rescue and I
was using an old list of channels and talk-groups for my info. I mentioned,
however, that some changes were in the works to allow units to use mobile
repeaters, to be installed in the Battalion Chief buggies. I've now learned
that this will result in changing of the way a number of zones are named.
Zone 8, for example, will become Zone 71. Zone 9 will become Zone 72. Zone
10 will become Zone 79.

So, for example, a unit being told to switch to the EMRC "calling" TG will
be told to switch to 72-C, rather than 9-C. I think the mobile repeaters
will be operating on 7-N, 71-N and 72-N. There will be many other changes.

I believe the changeover is supposed to be completed by November.

Stay tuned,

Ed
