thanks guys!

I am used to the usual airline waitress spiel about only using electronics on the plane only when they say its okay. 

But I have never tried to bring a scanner through security, let alone post 9-11 security, so I am most interested to know what folks have experienced from the TSA screeners....are they permitting them, giving a lot of hassle, mildly curious?  


the experience in England was very interesting, as is the tip to bring purchase receipts to avoid having to pay duties.

one further question:  has anyone tried to bring an operating HT on a plane recently--as opposed to keeping the batteries out and separate?
