My sentiments exactly - yeah, I would think that if the thing was designed
for mobile use, that it would certainly operate in what I would consider
"outdoor" temperature range - and apparently it should (and, I guess, does),
since someone has posted the operating temp range as being from -4 to +140 F
(thanks, whoever that was from - I had planned to see if it was in the
manual, and you saved me the effort.
I should have clarified, the scanner usually lives in the house, may get
taken out occasionally. Let's see, that was Xmas eve - it wasn't _that_
cold here, maybe between 25 and 35 if that, but maybe the radio didn't like
the _ rapid change_... I suspect that may have been some of both - the cold
and the car's electrical system... and as I said, I'm still on the learning
curve with this radio, so can't rule out operator error, or as we say at
work, PEBChAK, or "Problem exists between chair and keyboard..."
Stay warm out (up!) there, Jim - I have a buddy who lives at 7800 feet in
Nederland, but I guess he's got nuthin' on you!
Thanks,
Doug
