There is a proposal before Loudoun County's Public Safety Committee to give
the green light for two emergency helicopters to be located at Leesburg
Executive Airport. This would allow the county to be more self-sufficient
in providing trauma care.

The committee will meet Monday night to discuss the proposal. If
recommended to the Board of Supervisors and subsequently approved, the
companies - AirCare and MedSTAR -- could have helicopters up and running as
early as June, according to Cindy Martin, interim director of Leesburg
Executive Airport.
