251.1
briken garbled comms. Suspect popssible Harmonic of I
guess 125.55. Will keep working it.
350.95
NAVY SALTY DOG 107 Checking in with GREEN DOMINION
(A/C). Some sort of testing going on put I could not
figure out what exactly they were up to. I know GREEN
DOMINION has been heard around here efore but I can't
remember who/what they were nor can I find anything in
my notes or on the web about them. Could not really
put a finger on what they were up to but I'll note
some of the terminolgy used "HOMPLATE" "CHALLENGE
TRACK" "Showing 2 Homeplates". It appeared that SD was
conducting simulate A-A intercepts but GD did not seem
to be directing them.
138.95
Used as interplane for apparent flight of 2 for RED
AIR/BLUE AIR ACM. No C/Ss heard. Freq comes back as
probable NODAKS freq.
383.3
Used as Interpane freq. Weak comms, nothing gained.
291.4
Flight of 2 reporting 6 MK 76s load on one A/C the
other A/C is dry to apparent unknown Ground Station.
Sounded like they were working an MOA but don't seem
to be able to find anything to confirm this with.
Background noise did not appear to be Helos this time.
Previous logs on this freq had ZULU used as C/S. ZULU
is H1 Upgrades at PAX. Will keep working this.
245.65
Unknown fighters in brief ACM, Could not get much more
out of it.
251.45
Salty Dog 422 at PAX conducting some sort of flight
test. I have posted about the type of comms used so I
won't get into alot of detail but I will touch on it
briefly. It's what I call the "HOT MIKE FROM HELL" and
is used alot for FLIGHT TEST. Used sometimes when
there is a chase plane involved, "ALL" audio from the
lead aircraft is transmitted on this freq. You can
hear the Pilot doing Pre-Flight Checks taking with the
CREW cheif on the ICS Cord. Then you can hear the
Pilot call ground for engine starts, taxi clearance,
Tower for take off, Advisory for area control ETC. In
other words you hear everything that the Pilot says
and hears on one freq, even when he changes freq you
still hear him and whoever he is talking to. I am told
this is so that the chase pilot has "SITUATIONAL
AWARENESS HIGH" as to what is going on in the lead
aircraft. I am gonna tag this as "NHK FLIGHT TEST
(CVS)" (CVS is COCKPIT VOICE SYSTEM).
138.2
Weak comms, could not get too much out of it. Used as
interplane for apparent flight of 3 discussing large
"POP" as one of the A/C was coming out of afterburner.
They did reference checking in with Norfolk before
heading up to Atlantic City. F-16 users list does not
have this as a freq for NJ-ANG so I am not gonna tag
it yet.
143.85
Used as Interplane for flight of 2. No C/Ss heard but
they seemed to be doing A-G targeting work somewhere
in the vicinty of ADW. They kept using ADWs RWYs as a
reference for finding their ground targets.
399.975
Weak comms, suspect was probably FM mode transmission.
Probably some kind of bleed from the 400-420 MHz
trunked systems around here.
305.15
Prop aircraft reporting Maint isuues with likely
ground station. Suspect HAWKEYE due to noise and
terminology used.
