No good tags for today but did catch a couple of
things that have me scratching my head about WASH CTR.
138.1
1 transmission, brief comms, nothing gained. Then
heard "WASHINGTON CTR, good afternoon FALCON 420K
flight level 190". HMMMMMMM, I sure would like to see
it somewhere in the NIMA docs that this is a posted
WASH CTR freq.
307.25
SMASH 11, flight of 2, checking in with WASHINGTON
CTR. This is one on me, as I have 307.0 as WASH CTR.
Almost makes me wonder if my scanner is a little off
freq. Gonna have to do some thinking about this one.
140.375
Used as interplane between 3 A/C. They chit-chatted
for about 10 minutes solid about wives, houses and
everything but never gave up anything useful. They
werew heading north as I heard references to BWI then
Philly. I did hear one pilot ask the other how long he
had been at SHAW, so that a big help there. Freq comes
back as in use by both the 78th & 79th FSs of the 20th
FW from SHAW. I am not gonna tag it yet as I'd like to
be able to break it down into exactly which squadron
is was I hear before tagging.
245.65
Interplane between 2 A/C for ACM. Brief comms,
notihing useful gained.
235.2
DARKSTAR working with unknown A/C. Prepping for a 2V2
in W-122 Area 15-19. Freq comes back as a known AWACS
freq but I'd like to attemot to ID it a little better
so I'll keep on it.
271.4
Weak comms, but sounded like HORN 1 trying to raise
another A/C. Could not get any mre out of it.
361.1
Used as interplane freq between 2/3 helos judging from
background noise in the PAX RIVER areas. They
referenced this freq as SQUADRON COMMON. The only
thing I could pick up that "might" have been a C/S was
BONGO but I have my doubts that it was used as a C/S.
These guys were apparently working with a Waterbug A/C
doing refueling ops judging from the repeated refences
to the tanker. I did hear a comment about 3 V22s in
the same airspace but could not get enough out of it
to know if they were talking about themselves or
someone else.
341.9
Brief, weak comms, nothing gained.
360.2
Brief, weak comms, nothing gained.
385.3
Used as interplane, weak comms, not enough audio to
pull anything out of it.
