U.S.P.P. has general jurisdiction for Dangerfield Island (I believe it is
called) on the VA side of the Potomac as it is National Park Service
property. MPD has responsibility for any homicide that occurs with the
District, and therefore handles fatalities on the Wilson Bridge and
Dangerfield Island. I am dubious about National Airport falling within
D.C. - it doesn't appear on any MPD map, and whenever a body turns up in
a car trunk in the long term parking lot, I don't believe MPD has ever
responded. Its not part of 7D - the closest MPD district - and also
covers Wilson Bridge. Since Dangerfield Island is completely surrounded
by the Potomac (although you never notice while driving on the GW
Parkway) it falls within D.C. National Airport, regardless of its
landfill-origins, is contiguous with the Virginia shoreline, and
therefore most likely is in VA.

Maybe Dewey can confirm or not that theory. I can't post this to the
list because I am on an HTML client.
