[Scan-DC] Snowplows in NoVA

1.  47.0400 mhz. is one of the 47 mhz. frequencies allowed to most VDOT facility
operations.  If it is a repeater operation the input is 45.3400 mhz.  47.0400
mhz. for some VDOT facilities may be used soley for an interstate safety patrol
but that does not apply to all VDOT operations using that frequency.  For
example, I just monitored KSL264, VDOT Saint Stephens Church,  King & Queen Co.
on 47.0400 mhz. with routine VDOT type comms.  In the Virginia Beach area
47.3000 mhz. solely is used for motor assistance on the interstate highways.

2.  VMS, Inc. has a contract with the state, excluding a few exception
situations, to provide maintenance and repair to the interstate highways.  With
a couple of exceptions, VMS does not use VDOT frequencies.  However, I am sure
VMS has cell phone communications capability with VDOT.

3.  I don't know where you are or what your monitoring configuration is, but in
central Virginia I hear frequent comms from many different VDOT activities daily
during their normal working hours on their various 47 mhz. frequencies.
