47.04 is used by the safety service patrols on the interstate and it is on a
repeater. I hear very little VDOT radio traffic and I think a news story I
recently saw explains why that is. The story was shot inside the traffic
management control center located in Arlington that is for VDOT traffic
management. The guy in the piece was talking to VDOT trucks on a Nextel. I
suspect that a lot of their operations for voice radio traffic is taking
place there.
