If you're talking about compatibility from a users
standpoint, they, yes, they are compatible. The users
of the system are using Motorola XTS3000's, XTS5000's
and probably ASTRO Specra's in the car/fire truck.
Those radios are capable of both 3600 baud and 9600
baud control channel operation. The users will be
able to "roam" onto neighboring systems (provided they
are authorized).
From a TrunkTracking scanning standpoint, then, no,
they are not compatible. The TrunkTracker is not
capable of 9600 baud operation.
The only advantage to going to 9600 baud operation is
to be fully compliant to the digital, Project 25
"interoperable" trunking standard.
