Pilot Violates Reagan National Airport Airspace 
Updated: Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002 - 2:45 PM EST. 

(Arlington) -- The pilot of a small plane who flew into restricted
airspace at Reagan National Airport is in trouble. 
The U.S. Air Force scrambled two fighter jets this afternoon to follow
the aircraft. 

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Les Dorr says as the pilot
headed west, Dulles International Airport suspended departures for about
15 mintues. Two planes were delayed.

I heard the jets fly over this afternoon; they were low enough that I
tried to see them. I thought nothing of them, though, figuring that it
was Reserve or Guard training. On second thought, they probably didn't do
that this weekend.
