ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Two U.S. Air Force fighter jets scrambled 
to the skies over Washington after the pilot of a small plane flew 
into restricted airspace around Ronald Reagan Washington National 
Airport. 
   The Air Force scrambled fighters shortly before 12:30 p.m. 
Sunday, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Les Dorr said. 
   As the pilot headed west, Dulles International Airport suspended 
departures for about 15 minutes, delaying two planes. 
   Dorr said it did not appear the pilot of the Beech 35 intended 
to harm anyone by violating airspace. 
   The pilot landed at an airstrip in Front Royal, Va. The Warren 
County Sheriff's Department reported deputies detained the pilot 
for the Secret Service. 
   Calls to the Secret Service were not immediately returned.
