All:
Today was the first "official" day that Frederick County (Maryland) =
fully switched over to its new communications building (located in the =
new law mall at 100 Airport Drive). The actual move was done yesterday, =
with a minimum of radio problems. =20
It appears that we are now trunked on the fire side. The Sheriff's =
Dept and Brunswick Police have not changed radios or call signs, the =
talk groups appear to remain the same. I am still trying to determine =
talk groups for the Fire Dept. No ID's yet, but I have heard "Fire Tac =
30" and "EMS 10" during separate incidents today (didn't have a trunk =
tracker to pick up the TG's). =20
Word from "open sources" indicated that simulcast would continue on =
the main dispatch channel for volunteers (46.340, Ch 2) and this appears =
to be correct. I also heard operations with Franklin County Pa on =
46.240, which is the old Channel 3, the primary fire tactical channel. =20
The "old" channels were as follows:
46.420 Ch 1
46.340 Ch 2 (Dispatch)
46.240 Ch 3 (Primary Tacitical)
46.440 Ch 4=20
FCSO continues to simulcast its Main Dispatch on 39.020.
One thing I have noticed is that the toning sounds somewhat =
different; its not as "crisp" as it was. The tones sound almost the =
same, but not quite. Perhaps because of the 800 trunk system. =20
Regardless, as soon as I have TG updates on this system, I'll post =
them.
Stay Safe!
