[Scan-DC] XM Radio

On the stations that do have advertising it it only 2-4 minutes per hour, if
that. I think commercials run on only 30 of the channels. They are channels
like CNN/SI, ESPN and 28 or so others.

Although Sirius who is in the process of rolling our now does not have any
commercials, I can't imagine that they will be able to survive on just
subscription fees alone. Even if XM did have 8-10 minutes of commercials on
stations, i still would not give it up.

I wonder about this... The advertisements I hear claim "no advertising", not
"little advertising". What sorts of stations play ads? Is this something I
might look forward to, should I subscribe (which I'm wont to do for the same
reasons you enumerated)? My fear is that advertising plays a larger and
larger part when XMs projections don't pan out...

In any formula, constants (especially those obtained from handbooks)
are to be treated as variables.
