[SADXA] DXPedition to Midway Island

Bryce,

Unfortunately, while often wanting to go on DXpeditions the opportunity never
presented.  When I was young enough, I was too busy raising a family and trying
to make a living.  When I retired and had time and money I had a disabled wife
that I could not leave.  Now, I have time and money but most groups would
consider me too old and even though I'm near the top of the Honor Roll, too
inexperienced.

So, I can't advise you with first hand knowledge, but there are a few members
who have been on expeditions.  Perhaps they will chime in.  I believe one
additional of thing that is looked at beside operating skills and health is the
ability to get along with other people in trying circumstances.  I think this is
why pretty much the same old guys go on these things time after time because
they all know each other.

Besides our club members, the Central Arizona DX Association (CADXA) has several
members that have been on many expeditions.  I would suggest that you might
contact Ned, AA7A, for advice.  He has been everywhere and often presents to our
club after each expedition.
