Hi Marc,

HNY and healthy 2009 back to you!

you can search it yourself here:
<http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds/tarhome_en.htm>
you will find most of ham radio equippement in chapter 85:
<http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds/cgi-bin/tarchap?Taric=85000000&Download=0&Periodic=0&ProdLine=80&Lang=EN&SimDate=20090108&Country=----------&YesNo=1&Indent=-1&Action=1>
sometimes it is good to read those paragraphs in advance, and
then go to customs and tell them: it is this TARIC code.
Some things can macht to more than one category, and some have duties
aplied to it and otheres have 0%.
It depends on the part - it is not "ham radio -> that code".
Depending on antennas, filters, transceivers, ... there are different
codes, and those codes change from time to time.

well this includes the sales tax (in DL: MwSt, 19%), AFAIR a general
customs rate (10%) and a handling fee, so 80 EUR seems reasonable for me.
nevertheless it is too expensive, but handling itself at the
customs includes travelling to the customs buro, and take your time
there :) In DL you have to open the parcel in front of the officer,
and so on...
