Thanks Bob! I found a great AA nicad source. The bad news is that Mouse Ni MH supposedly similar battery? Darn turned out to be a 9V 'standard-shape' battery. Sure, it's NiMH, but ~ useless to me + I really don't like 'em, cuz if you ever manage to get a ring across those terminals, you''re gonna lose that finger (or at least, with NiCads you would due to their extremely low ESR-I don't know for sure about NiMH.)

The "standard fix" for this and for a lot of radios its to put in a battery holder for more normal batteries. Something like AA cells. We're going to spend a *lot* of time swapping out batteries in these radios over the years ….
