Hi Brian, The RA17/C3 has a solid state rectifier, there is a plate covering the hole where the tube socket is supposed to be. The serial # is 3035 FWIW. My "L" has a 5AR4 tube. I am definitely interested in your documentation, can you email it or can I send you some $$ for postage?? Many Thanks, Ross

****** Ross,AFAIK the RA17 MkII used a CV378 (GZ33) thermionic rectifier for
the B+ and the RA17C3 used solid state silicon diodes,what does your set
have?
Another difference was the C3 had a 75 Ohm wideband termination in the
antenna circuit.
I can provide you with a reasonable RA1MkII circuit diagram scan over four
pages,please let me know if you want this.Interestingly enough,the copy I
have has the "MkII" crossed out and "C" hand written in.

*****Depends on what model you actually have.I'm not sure if a C3 had the
double tuned antenna coils,perhaps not.It may have had a CV3998 (E180F) wide
band pentode as the RF amp which ran wide open with no AGC applied. Please
let me know.

Brian G.
