[R-390] Placement of KILOCYCLE CHANGE CONTROL LOCKING DISK

Hi Barry,

As you can see in the attached picture, the disk runs in the middle of the
gap made by the brake clamp moving and fixed parts.
And yes, the moving part have to bent the disk when the knob is turned
clockwise before being able to clamping it solidly to the fixed part.
On the other side, the split gears clamped to the KC shaft should not run
too close to the front edge of the brass gear.

After returning the RF deck to the chassis and getting the gears tensioned
and meshed, I'm wondering something about the KILOCYCLE CHANGE CONTROL
LOCKING DISK's axial placement along its shaft. Looking at the DIAL LOCK, I
think the fixed part of that mechanism should ride fairly close to the
"front" of the locking disk such that tightening the DIAL LOCK pinches that
disk between the two fingers of the lock. Otherwise, the moving part of the
lock just "pulls" the disk forward instead of pinching it.

Is there anything in the manual that describes the proper axial location of
that disk? I've looked and don't see anything so I was wondering if it's
there and I've just missed it.

Thanks,
Barry - N4BUQ
