LOL, that's funny;
"... I remember one girl
"Yeah, but, why?...""
I asked those questions and the punishment was electrical engineering
school. After 4 years of learning exactly how many electrons it to do this
or that. I remember knowing, and being good with ohm's law well before
college. Reading through the syllabus at the start of a college semester and
seeing that we had in one class, two weeks devoted to ohm's law. Thinking it
was going to be a breeze, then the torture of learning every possible
iteration of ohm's law and about two dozen "why" answers.

At the time it just seemed like she just wasn't getting it or something, never thought it might be a curiosity to know more of what was behind it. I never wound up getting much formal schooling, even though I scored very high on the ASVAB's and was an honor grad at Keesler. When I got to Hickam and had my first interview with a career advisor he told me of all the programs to go into the reserves, go to school and then pay back the time as an officer. I remember thinking "I'll be 28 when I get out!" LOL
Had an opportunity to apply for the White House Communications Agency. I had been dealing with some issues of my youth and didn't have the confidence to think I could live on my own in DC, among other things.
It's all spilled milk and I have no regrets, life is pretty good these days. I just wonder how the different road might have looked.

I think it was tied to something. It definitely had a ragged end waving in the breeze. Some guys had a real hard time. A kid from near my home town that I sat with on the plane down to boot camp and wound up in my outfit went to the DI one day and said he had a razor blade in his pocket and wanted to go home. We never saw him again.
OK, no more personal stories. This ain't no therapy session! °¿°
