[R-390] Now *this* is a really nifty idea...

Tom that brings back memories...

My Parents brought me a wood burning set for Christmas one year....imagine
that today with all the liability concerns and such....anyway after I got
bored with burning wood I thought.....you know this just might be good as a
soldering iron. Something my Parents would not have considered buying
because that meant I might be poking around inside of radio's and tv's and
that would be just plain dangerous.

It worked just fine as a soldering iron...once I managed to get the tip
tinned. I don't think dad ever figured out who was into his Kester
soldering paste.

I had an old green blue indoor/outdoor carpet in my room. No work bench of
any kind. My Mom still comments on the burn marks in the carpet from my
electronic experimentation in the floor of my room from the wood burning
tool turned soldering iron.....

Late 60's early 70's....great years...
