Well Brian, it reminds me too.    We lived with my grandmother and she made most
of the Swedish Christmas dishes for us.    Oh, how she could cook.    I learned 
to love pickled herring and many other culinary delights that many will shun today
hahaha   The names were Ohloffsson and Bengtsson and they came from Smolland.   
My spelling might be a bit off.
