Hi John,
I've already voted for you, so I only have unrelated questions for you.
First, for reason would anyone in his right mind object to adding the 60m ?.
QCWA'ers yet?
Second, what reason did the ARRL present for objecting to the plan for an
operator designating the club to use his call when he becomes deceased? Or could
it be because 'it wasn't invented here'?
Jean and I are back in Michigan as of May 4, and I"m freezing my you know what
off! 40°? Grrr!
Walt

that affect our ability to enhance friendship and cooperation among amateur
operators who were first licensed at least 25 years ago. Our External Relations
Standing Committee takes the initiatiative on this.

60-meter band to our amateur service. Then a Director, I drafted and filed
comments for the Committee. We all felt that a new HF band was desired by every
ham. Wrong! It brought down a firestorm of protests from our members.

name the club that could obtain their call sign when they become deceased.
Currently, only our relatives can do this. In my case, that is 26 people!
Again, I drafted and filed the petition for the Committee. The League opposed
our petition. The FCC, however, saw the logic and included it in a Notice of
Proposed Rule Making. Again, the League opposed it. The QCWA decided not to
file in support, so I did so under my own name. We are currently awaiting the
FCC decision. I think it has a good chance.
