[QCWA] Error in Journal

Thanks for the info, Norm, and I'll definitely put some of the stories down on
paper. In fact I've just finished one for the Reflector on broadcasts from
Japanese BC station JOAK.

I forgot to tell you that we used WAR every day as a bearing-reference station.
As you know, the constantly varying ionosphere causes distortion to the
propagation paths of sky-wave signals. So a reference is necessary to determine
the true direction determined by an Adcock direction finder. After taking the
reading of the direction of an unknown station, we'd then take a bearing on a
reference station on approximately the same frequency to determine the amount of
error incurred in the direction of the unknown station.

We had a list of many known commercial and military stations, and their
frequencies, so a quick shift to their frequency was easy. It's surprising how
many times we used a WAR frequency for the reference.
