My Dear Lionel,

You have stated your position very well.

Art the present time there is a lot of flaming going on, on the QCWA list, re
CW vs SSB.

Neither position is correct, and the unkind words do more to turn people away
than to defend either position.

I operate CW, AM, FM, SSB, DSB, as well as others, including digital modes,
along with iLink and echo link.

] Which one is correct, or, which one is the best? The one I want to use at
the moment. That's the best.

I've been a ham for 54 years for the FUN of it.

I came out of the service at 35 WPM CW, so code didn't keep me from getting
the EXTRA class license. I just never felt a need for it. And now, quite
frankly, all of the space stuff doesn't interest me in the least.

So, my question is, why can't people jus leave me alone without all of the
criticism that comes my way because I am not "up to date". After all, I've
done so much in 76 years of living, plus the fact that I'm still employed
full time, that I don't have too much time or energy to devote to upgrading,
even if I wanted to.

So, in summation I offer the following. It doesn't really matter where your
interests in amateur radio lie, but what kind of a ham and person you are.
Most of the arguments are not valid when you subscribe to the 'live and let
live' philosophy.

So, whatever pursuits suit you, you are more important to me than your choice
of pursuits. Pick a venue and enjoy it with all of your heart. As a member of
the amateur fraternity AND the human race, you deserve it.

Aren't you glad the FCC agrees?
