Check with Murphy's Surplus and see if he still has any power supply
modules in stock. http://www.murphyjunk.bizland.com/
The one I repaired had a bad controller chip, more details at
http://www.cliftonlaboratories.com/april_2008.htm -- scroll down about
half way.
It is possible to work on the module out of the receiver, but it must
be done with the appropriate safety precautions and suitable test gear.
In general switching power supplies are a major pain in the backside
because you don't have (in many cases) a partially working power supply
that can be sequentially debugged.
