[Premium-Rx] ITT Mackay marine 3030a questions

Hello, I'm new to the list and recently acquired a Mackay  3030a receiver. I wasn't 
fortunate to get a manual with it. It is working but, I'm confused about the 
speaker hookup. I have the internal speaker working ,when I went to connect an 
external speaker to the 600 ohm line I found that only the rf gain control seems to 
affect volume. Maybe this is normal ,I'm not sure.  I'm also wondering what type of 
bulb is behind the S-meter and where and if I can find it.And finally I'm looking 
for a copy of the manual. Many thanks
