 For all of us endusers residing inside the European 
Community we have to pay the German VAT (sales tax) which currently is 
16% and will rise to 19% in 2007. Anybody outside the EU pays the net 
price plus applicable customs fees and other local taxes for his country 
of residence.

I wonder if it will get to the point where for someone in Europe it would be 
cheaper to have someone in the U.S. buy the radio, have it shipped to the U.S. 
then back over to Europe to save on the VAT?  19% of $7000 is $1330. Assuming 
$180 shipping cost each way, someone could still save close to $1000 doing
