Hi guys,
Long time since I've written in, but I'd have to suggest looking into an
active or tuned loop for the best VLF performance and immunity to intermods.
It all starts at the antenna and the bigger the better. You'll see just a a
few bigger than 75 square foot in area, but going bigger than this is still
better.
I built and tuned a diamond shaped 4 turn loop using 10G wire on a 2" PVC
frame which was on a rotator.
Tuning it with a series of varactors gave great "Q" (around 300) and
following it with a balanced FET amplifer and Z match stage to feed 50 ohm
coax back to the receiver placed it away from all that house and electrical
noise.
It received most of the OMEGA stations, a few of the Alpha's Jim Creek and a
pile of other < 20Khz stuff. Never heard SAQ tho !

Not expensive or highly technical, but great results and worth a try if you
have the space and time.
