[Premium-Rx] RF-590 VLF sensitivity improvement

I have a Harris RF-590.

I also have a HP 3586C Selective Level Meter, which is
essentially a 50 Hz to 30 Mhz receiver with a very sensitive
dB meter. It has 20 Hz, 400 Hz and 3100 Hz IF filters.
I've used it to search for the 300 khz air-navigation beacons.

The 3586C has an IF out. I wondered if it would be an advantage
to feed the IF out of the HP and into the Harris (tuned to the
HP IF), because the HP only has a single sideband and
lousy audio out? These 3586C's can be eBayed very cheaply.

Anyone else try something like that?

Sincerely
Blair,
