A few days back i asked about info on a Skanti Reciever

I recived it today and what a beaty..one minor mark on a case corner
and other than that is all I wanted.

It appears that the model CU-8010 ( i asked about ) is just the Skanti
R8001 with a different Control Unit ( head ) than that on other
pictures i have found.

The ability to mount the head ( control panel ) upto 100 meters away (
maybe near my favorite livingroom chair ? ) and have the audio
delivered there intriques me greatly.

Also i got a complete Maintenance and Technical manual (copy ) along
with it. Things as configuration passwords, being able to make a
completely customised radio or a completely "locked down" radio aswell
as the possibility to put antennae input into high or low in there
ranges independently ( 10khz-512khz + 512khz to 1700 khz and 1700 to
5400khz ) and much other goodies makes this one a keeper. Its a bit
limitid with regards to filters but not that this worries me at
all...i can always throw a Datong or a Timewave after it....=)  poor
man's solution i know.

Compared side by side on same antenna ( to a NRD545! ) this one is a
hot and "fast" radio also very easy to operate.

Im very pleased..but dangit..its big....

Now if i could only master a programming language i would delve into
maybe write a quick and dirty remote control proggie.
