Hmm...
Looking at the WJ-8940B data sheet, it can be seen that the receiver proper
is separated from the control unit.
If this qualifies as an early Prem-Rx, then a node in the Standard Radio ARTRAC prototype
system from 1973 also must qualify, as it consisted of one or two SRT CR302A ISB diversity receivers, one CTD500 exciter + SSA400 PA, all controlled from an Alpha/LSI
16-bit minicomputer with 32 kword core memory.
The system was contained in a 6' 19" rack.
