Guys,

I am interested in perhaps buying an AOR 7030+ receiver.

If you have some experience with this receiver, I'd love to find out what you
think.

Apart from the lack of a preselector, it looks like a pretty amazing little
radio.

Thanks!

Hi Gary, there looks to be tons of info and reviews on the 7030+ doing a
google search on the web. The consensus seems to be the 7030 did have numerous
quality-control problems over the years but these have been mostly ironed out by
now. I would only buy one that is brand new with warranty in case any problems
crop up. They seem to be hard to service and need to be sent back to the UK
for repairs I believe. Supposed to be the equal if not slightly better than the
Drake R8B (now being discontinued by Drake) for about the same price new
($1500). I understand Universal Radio is the only dealer for them in the USA.
Additional IF filters are expensive if you want to play with bandwidths. Good luck
if you decide to buy one! 73 Todd WD4NGG
