For radio gear box bearings, a good cheap lubricant is Castrol "Molyslip" which is based on molybdenum disulphide. You don't need much. Racal used to recomend it for their boatanchors, and it works well in many applications, and more importantly, you can usually buy it in small tubes at cycle shops. I still have a litre can which will last me for a few more decades!
On a similar theme, Castrol's underwater grease (used for outboard engines) is filthy clingy stuff but excellent for protecting antenna connections (though I would not use it on coax because it may attack the PVC sheath).
