Subject: [Premium-Rx] panadapter/sdu for harris rf-590?
I know everybody has a favorite, but the one I like best is an HP-141T
spectrum analyzer. This can be hooked to any IF up to 100 MHz and has sweep
times, bandwidths and displays that no panadaptor can come close to, as far
as I know. It's kind of big, and the newer HP analyzers are smaller, but
these old ones can be purchased quite reasonably now. I paid around $500
for my whole setup, 141T display, 8553B RF section and 8552B IF section, all
working perfectly. It's also handy to have around for alignment if you get
the tracking generator with it.

Hello all, my harris RF-590 has two IF outputs (filtered and unfiltered)
both at 455Khz. I would imagine that the unfiltered could be used for a
panapator/spectrum display unit. Does anyone know if harris ever made such
a thing (455Hkz) that "went" with the 590? Or perhaps made a generic
panadapter for other lines of radios?
Or does anyone have a "favorite" panadaptor? I have a heath SB620 which I
have yet to resurrect, but wanted to know about others. I know the WJ folks
are just plain spoiled when it comes this this stuff!
