	At the risk of asking a slightly odd question, do you really
mean EBCDIC ?

	I have never heard of anyone creating firmware based on  EBCDIC
character sets, at least in the last 25 years and outside of IBM.

	Variations on ASCII are so much the standard that the news
Harris (or the US government) chose EBCDIC for controlling a HF receiver
is really surprising.
