Hi,

In FL1 the filter has to be inserted, which is used for LSB mode. In case it
is a symmetrical filter, this filter will be used for USB as well. In case a
filter with an offset to the IF is used the RA6790 will try to locate the
corresponding offset USB filter in the remaining slots.
I suppose the 3.4KHz filter is a symmetrical filter and should be placed in
FL1 then for SSB reception. Since there are 4 remaining filters to be
inserted, the 3.4KHz filter can be used for all other modes as well. If
there were 5 remaining, the filter in FL1 would be used for SSB exclusivly
The remaining filters can be placed at will. The BITE (press LOCK, press AM,
release AM, release Lock) program will determine which bandwidth is in which
slot and will assign the filters according to the bandwith with the keys
BW1 to BW5 in bandwidth ascending order. You have to make sure that all the
other filters are symmetrical as well or You generate BITE error 06 (to
continue BITE program: press LOCK, press CW, release LOCK, release CW).
There are 7 filter slots, so You have the possibility to insert an offset
LSB + an offset USB filter (which is a necessity for ISB reception, in case
You have the board) and 5 more symmetrical filters triggered by the BW keys
for all other modes.
Since during the BITE program the bandwidth of the filters is actually
measured, it might display other bandwidths, than printed on the filter.

  Betreff: [Premium-Rx] Racal 6790/R-2174 question

Can anyone define the designation for FL1-FL7 filter slots when there are
only 5 supposedly available?

  I want to arrange the following filters: 1.5 / 3.4 / 5 / 6 / 8.8 KHz for
correct or optimal positions.

  Thank you,
