Hi Martin & list ..

Just a thought, but for what it's worth:

The fact that it runs for an hour or two suggests it might be a failing
heatsink point.  Heatsink grease doesn't last forever -- it eventually dries
out.  An easy fix if that's what it is.  You could also try a can of that
component cooling spray, though I don't know if the fault would reset
immediately.  It might require cutting power and turning it on again after
shooting a suspect component.

One way to "feel around" for a thermal/heatsink problem is to let the
receiver go on fault, unplug and probe around.  If you find a heatsunk
component that's unusually hot, but the surrounding metal or finned heatsink
is cool, the thermal bond between the two is not effective.
