[Premium-Rx] Ailing Racal 6790/GM

Greetings to all:

My Racal 6790/GM has been having an intermittent problem:

After listening for an hour or so, I start getting a lot of extraneous 
noise (no signal) followed by the fault light.
Am guessing that it is a thermal failure in one of the components.

When running self test, I get the indicator "01"

If I let it cool off, it will be good for another hour or two.

Any ideas and/or suggestions for narrowing down/diagnosing the problem?
