Hi,
For those of you that were at the club meeting this is the information via
email as promised. For others that might be interested. The idea behind this
Relief Center is to make it a One Stop Shop for evacuees from the hurricane.
There are representatives from most relief agencies from the Pikes Peak area,
State and FEMA that are set up to offer assistance. Volunteers are needed to
do about everything and anything. Salvation Army is feeding and can use help.
Volunteers to assist the evacuees find the various support agencies around
the building. Red Cross is looking for assistance in many areas (some require
training and others don't) At the entrance which is located at the back of
the building that was the old city gas building and is located at 120 Cimino
and Colorado (this is the first intersection east of I-25 on Colorado Ave.

do+Springs&state=co&zipcode=&historyid=&submit.x=42&submit.y=10
There are applications available to volunteer to the different agencies that
are supporting the Relief Center. Some of these agencies will at a later
time be sending assistance down south to support the recover and mitigation
efforts. The telephone for the Relief Center is 482-9900.
In addition the County and city are offering classes for CERT (Community
Emergency Response Training). This is training and how to be prepared to survive
the first 72 hours after a disaster strikes. If you are interested in
becoming a CERT member, please contact the Emergency Services Division at (719)
575-8400, M-F MST.
