[PCR-1000] Laptop Problem with PCR

Hi all,

Tried to use my new laptop (well, OK , the firm's). It's a Dell M70 with just two small sound card jacks, - one for the microphone and one for the headphones running windoze XP. The problem is that I can't play the radio through the laptop's speakers unless I have some other software running (such as spectrum lab) which connects the sound cards input ADC to the output DAC. There seems to be no place in the computer settings that will let me play the sound output through to the speakers. 

Or am I missing something ? I've looked everywhere for a way to do this.  Anyone else had this problem ?
