[PCR-1000] first experience with a PCR1000

Hi Ed,

There have been a few posters here who did develop PCR1K control
applications in visual Basic.  You can search the list's archives over the
past few months...

Additionally, there is at least one commercially sold application, TalkPCR,
which might also be written in Vbasic.  Do a google search on TalkPCR to
find the author's site.

I did get a chance to create a simple interface a while ago with 'SoftWire',
a graphical application that interfaces to visual basic.  I no longer have
access to the software - it was a limited time free (but full function)
demo.

A competing product, WinRadio, actually has a basic library they distribute
to help folks write their own interfaces.  The manufacturer's benefit is
that they run contests (and give away radios) in return for the code.  A
cleaver and inexpensive way to get creative ideas.
