I'm  currently  using  along  with  my  PCR1000  MixW by UT2UZ (shareware), good
results   for   BPSK31,   QPSK31,   FSK31,  CW,  RTTY,  Packet,  Amtor,  Pactor,
Hellschreiber,  Throb, SSTV; not so good for Fax, MT63: for these last two modes
I  use  JVComm by DK8JV (shareware) for fax (HF or SAT) and IZ8BLY MT63 terminal
(freeware). Other two great progs, freeware, MMTTY and MMSSTV by JE3HHT.

Also  using  with good results PC ALE by G4GUO (freeware) for link establishment
sigs and SeaTTY by Sergei Podstrigailo (shareware) for NAVTEX.

In   my  opinion,  DSP  via  the  usual  soundblaster  is  offering  outstanding
performance, I see no need to employ "old" hardware: simply connect the RX audio
to the PC line-in and run the appropriate program.

Maybe you'd like to give them another try.
