F-connectors are actually the best to use as you dont
crimp or solder them. You use the inner conductor direct
coupled to the device without any loss. They are also
extremly inexpensive. When finnaly connecting to a scanner
at the cable end, you can make a cable with a BNC at the
end or use a F-BNC adapter. The whole setup will be so much
more cost effective going F connectors everywhere and its
easy to add attenuators, amplifiers, splitters and relays
if they all use F connectors. 75 ohm is the best to use for
reception and the cables are also better and less expensive
than comparable 50 ohm cables.
