Hello all:

Well, I caught an error this morning. I don't want to say whodunit, but I
imagine it was me!

I had been told the exercise would start at 0800, but what they meant was be
in place at 0800 for a 0900 start. Oops. This would make us a hour later
than we have been planning.

So, rather than reschedule operators let's just flip-flop the order of
business. We can do the SET first, from 0800-0900, and then move directly
into the exercise at 0900. I hope this causes no difficulties for anyone.

All we need for the SET is a call sign and the county you are in. Our
objective is to show coverage to all parts of the state; you can use any
mode available, relays, links, WinLink, or what-have-you. The information
should come to KE5VRO at ADEM.

Messages from the affected counties are due to be started promptly at 0900.
At that time we will be accepting messages only from those counties, as the
exercise script is very rigid.

Also, an addition to the day: APRS gateways east of Little Rock should be
turned off for the entire two hours. If you are in NE Arkansas and want to
try APRS messaging, you might be able to get your message to N3QL. Ed will
forward it out of the area.

John KE5NZY will have his WinLink RMS (KE5NZY-10) available for packet users
to send messages. John can gateway messages on HF, so don't worry if all you
have available is a 2 meter rig. Remember to check in with John occasionally
to see if a message has been returned.

The Arkansas Department of Health will be on the air as AD5OH. I believe
there are some messages from the counties that will come directly to them.
