[PaQSO] County lines

I'd like to comment on this subject as a person who never operated a county line. Under the current rules, as I read them, there is zero incentive to operate a county line. You go through a lot of trouble to find a place to set up camp on the line, just for a single QSO point per contact. I'd much rather operate mobile or rover from those same counties, getting QSO points for each county.

Sure, everyone gets excited with knocking several county multipliers off the list in a single QSO, but once they're crossed off, any further contacts are worth no more than the guy sitting at home with his HT. And there's a lot more exchange information to send/receive depending on the number of county lines you're on.

I've been told that N1MM counts and scores county lines correctly. If I read the rules correctly, it does not. I got QSO point credit for each county of the county line station. That's the way I think the PAQP should handle county line scoring, but that's just my $0.02.

This is all too confusing right now for a mobile operator suffering from sleep depravation. I think I'll just send in my log and let Mike sort it out :-)
