[PaQSO] Dupe Sheet from N1MM

With computer logging it is in your benefit to log dupes.  Dave Robbins K1TTT
(one of the premiere contestors in the world) has a short note at the end of the
N1MM manual about why you MUST log dupes. If its good for him its good for the
rest of us. I have been working dupes since I read this over 8 years ago.

My personal experience is that I hear too many running stations waste
time trying to explain the dupe. In that amount of time they could have easily
worked two or three more stations with one of them probably being me. That would
let me move on to the next QSO.  The ones that are working dupes never break
stride and just may have eliminated a logging penalty.

If your logging program lets you work dupes, work them!  The only program I have
recently seen that did not let you do so was N3FJP's Field Day logger. I do not
know if that restriction extends to his other contest programs.
 Take care,
Mark

If the program doesn't count the dupe in the score, does it matter?  And I
think what K8MR is saying below is that it is probably better to log the
dupe, otherwise the station that correctly logged the first contact risks
losing points if log reconciliation is in place.  However, I don't think the
organizers use automated log checking, so admittedly a lot of logging sins
probably go unnoticed.

A few years ago dupe logging seemed wrong and counterintuitive to me until a
wise old... errr.... make that "experienced" contester down the road named
Bob explained it to me :-)  Now I log dupes religiously.
